    Driver tips, photos, reviews and new listings now get a quick review before going public

    When you share a tip, photo, review, alert, or suggest a brand-new venue / airport / bus parking / bus wash / mechanic, it now goes into a short admin review queue first. You'll see your own submission instantly with a "Pending review" tag so you know it landed. Once an admin approves it (typically within a day), everyone else can see it too — and you get a +3 bonus points award.

    You can trust every tip and listing on HopSeat because a real person eyeballed it. Spam, mistakes, and accidental duplicates never make it onto your map, and you still get instant credit for sharing.

    Sign-up now asks you to confirm your email and password

    When you create a HopSeat account with email, you'll now re-type both your email address and your password before submitting. Paste is disabled on the "confirm" boxes so a hidden typo can't sneak through. You'll see a live red hint if either pair doesn't match, and a green "✓ match" when they line up.

    Why this matters for you

    You won't get locked out of your shiny new account by a single missed letter — fewer password-reset emails, fewer "I never got the welcome email" tickets, faster onboarding.

    Photos you share on resource profiles now stick around for good

    When you snap a photo on a bus wash, mechanic, parking lot or airport profile, it now uploads straight to durable cloud storage instead of the local server. Older photos keep working unchanged.

    Your road photography — gate codes, parking spots, the door behind the dumpster — survives every server restart, so the road knowledge you contributed yesterday is still there tomorrow.

    Bus washes, mechanics, parking and airports are now live for every driver

    The four newest road resource directories — bus washes, bus mechanics, bus parking, and airports — are now fully open to every driver from the Resources tab on your dashboard. Each tab still has a green "NEW" ribbon next to it until you tap it, so you know what's fresh.

    Every shop, wash bay, overnight lot and crew-friendly airport your peers have logged is now one tap away — no more guessing where you can park a 45-footer at 2 a.m.

    Work Order PDF: cleaner layout and no more crashes

    The Service Work Order PDF now renders with clean, evenly-aligned pill boxes (Status, Priority, Date, Driver, Asset, Trip details) and long complaint descriptions wrap cleanly inside their cells instead of getting truncated. Em-dashes, smart quotes and other typographic characters no longer crash the PDF generator. The signature block at the bottom has comfortable spacing so labels never overlap the lines.

    Your work orders look professional when you hand them to a mechanic, vendor, or insurance adjuster, and they print reliably no matter how you typed the description.

    Your Service Report PDFs got the same polish as Work Orders

    The Service Report you can download from the gig screen now uses the same uniform pill-style layout as the company-side Work Order — clean Status / Priority / Date pills at the top, a tidy Driver / Asset / Trip grid, and crash-proof handling of em-dashes, smart quotes and special characters in your descriptions.

    The PDF you hand to a mechanic, a customer, or the office looks professional and prints reliably — even when you typed a long, descriptive complaint with copy-pasted punctuation.

    Real photo uploads (with captions) on every resource profile

    When you tap the "Photo" tab on a bus parking, mechanic, wash or airport profile, you now get a real photo picker (JPEG, PNG, WebP or HEIC up to 10 MB) with a preview thumbnail. Add an optional note in the same box — "gate code 4221, push the button by the awning" — and it posts as a caption right under your picture. Your photo and note appear instantly on the page for every driver after you, and you earn points the second you hit Post.

    Tap any bus parking spot, mechanic, bus wash or airport in the directory and you now land on a dedicated wiki-style page — same look as the new venue pages. Hero card with the headline summary, map with one-tap Google Maps directions, full quick-facts grid (specialties, services, mobile-mechanic toggle, parking type/cost/hours, wash type, IATA code, etc.), driver tips feed, and an inline composer to drop a tip, photo, hazard alert or rating right there. Mobile mechanics show a green "comes to your bus" pill at the top.

    You can now suggest brand-new bus parking, bus mechanics, bus washes and airports directly from the platform — no more waiting on admin. Add tips, photos, hazard alerts and reviews to any spot. Each contribution awards points instantly, with badges like Parking Scout, Mechanic Mapper, Wash Watcher and Airport Ace. A new "Boots-on-the-Ground" leaderboard celebrates the most active drivers each week and month.

    License and medical card now required to apply for gigs

    To apply for a gig, you need to have uploaded your CDL license (front AND back) and medical card. If anything is missing, a friendly checklist tells you what to upload before you hit Apply — no more rejected applications for paperwork you didn't realize was missing.

Sharing a venue link in iMessage, Slack or Facebook now shows a rich preview card with the venue's name, city and capacity instead of a bare URL.

    AI spell-check polishes every tip before you post

    Every tip, note or alert you submit gets a quiet AI grammar and spelling polish before it goes live, so your driving wisdom looks sharp for the rest of the community. A "AI polish" button is also available manually on long notes if you want a preview.

    Mobile mechanics now stand out in the directory

    Mobile mechanics (the ones who come to your bus) now show a green truck icon and a "Mobile" pill on every listing and profile. Added a clear "Services Provided" section so you can see engine work, brakes, A/C, roadside jumps etc. at a glance. Admins can mark any mechanic as mobile with one toggle.

    When you're stuck on the side of the road at 11 p.m., you can spot a mobile mechanic in seconds.

    DQ packet email-out feature removed

    We removed the ability for drivers to email their own DQ packet (CDL, medical card, license details) to outside email addresses. The "Email My DQ Packet" button is gone, the modal is gone, and the backend endpoint is removed. Existing audit records were also cleared.

    DQ documents stay strictly inside HopSeat where access is controlled, audited, and only released to a company after you accept their gig. Sensitive driver info is never sprayed to external inboxes.

    Push notifications enable button finally works

    When you tapped the bell to enable notifications, the loading wheel was spinning forever and nothing happened — especially if you had already granted browser permission once before. Fixed. The bell now actually subscribes you to push instead of just asking for permission, and if anything DOES go wrong you get a clear message explaining what to check instead of a silent stuck wheel.

    Push notifications now work the moment you tap Allow. No more wondering whether you're subscribed — you'll see a green bell when it's on.

    Bid gigs, open dates, and a new "Bus Move" gig type

    Three quick adds to the gig system. (1) When you post a gig open to bids, drivers now see a small heads-up note: "the most qualified driver with the lowest bid is most likely to be selected" — sets honest expectations from the start. (2) New "Open dates" checkbox on the create-gig form for when you don't have firm dates yet — useful for bus moves, on-call relief, or flexible tour shells. Drivers see "Open dates" instead of a broken date range. (3) New "Bus Move" gig type for moving an empty bus from point A to point B without passengers.

    Companies can post gigs even when dates aren't locked, drivers know exactly how bid selection works, and bus-move work finally has its own bucket instead of being miscategorized as a tour or fill-in.

    We were asking for your SSN last 4 in the DQ section but… there was no place to type it. Embarrassing. Fixed.

    New: the Idea Board

    A brand new "Idea Board" lives at the bottom of the platform. Submit ideas, upvote what you want next, downvote what doesn't fit. Drivers see driver ideas, bus companies see company ideas, tour organizers see their own — each group has its own board so the votes count for the people who actually use it. Updates live every few seconds. Profanity is auto-blocked.

    You finally have a direct line into what gets built next. The most-upvoted ideas in your group go to the top of our roadmap.

    Driver Qualification gate before applying

    Drivers can now only apply for gigs once their DQ file is fully complete (CDL, medical card, license info, SSN last 4, etc.). If something's missing, you see a friendly checklist showing exactly what to finish. Companies are reassured every applicant is verified-ready.

    Drivers don't waste apply slots on gigs they'd be rejected from. Companies only get verified, hire-able applicants.

    Tutorial dismiss UX — Esc, click outside, or Skip

    The first-login tutorial used to lock you in until you stepped through every panel. Now you can press Esc, click outside, click the X in the corner, or hit "Skip Tour" anytime.

    Privacy reassurance everywhere you enter sensitive info

    Every gig now has its own public link (`/gig/<id>`) you can share to text, social, or email. The page shows pickup/drop-off, dates, equipment, pay, and requirements — and pulls a beautiful preview card when pasted into iMessage, Twitter, LinkedIn, or Facebook. Logged-out viewers get "Sign Up to Apply"; logged-in drivers get "Apply Now" or "Place Your Bid"; logged-in companies/admins get "Go to Dashboard". A Share button lives on every gig card on your dashboard and on the driver gig board.
